Surströmmiakki Fest

I'm very late in posting this but our fest concluded over a week ago and the masterlist is finished. Commenting is highly encouraged and you don't need an DW account to do so!

I have been been running this fest since 2013 and I always look forward to putting this on, year after year.
However this year proved to be very difficult with my work schedule and missed out on some important emails and deadlines and for that I apologize. The turn out returned to the way it was in 2015 but I am grateful to everyone who took the time out their schedules to make something for the fest.

With that said, I did a lot of thinking these last few weeks and I think this will probably be the final Surströmmiakki Fest.

I would like to thank everyone, past and present, who came out over the years to participate. Some of you have been returning for several years and I'm truly humbled when I see your names pop up when I open the signups. Despite this being (most likely) the final fest, this is not 100% the end entirely. I will look to continue in other ways, most likely in the form a Tumblr Week as it seems fanwork fests are a dying practice in the fandom these days (you have also noticed Nordipalooza did not run this year). Nothing is finalized but I am thinking of running two fests next year, possibly one in spring/summer and another during the winter break. We'll see when we get there!

Our event is slowly coming to an end; today is officially the 17th so this is your final reminder that it is the last day to post. Posting will close on the 18th at 2AM EST.

I will be working a long shift at work so don't panic if you don't see your work up right away. If you already sent in your submission but didn't hear anything back from me, please resend it as I did not receive it. Best of luck to all of you still working on your submissions!

Just a few more days to go until posting officially begins! Posting access will open on December 3rd and you can post any time between then and December 17th. Posting will close at 2 AM EST on December 18th.

If you do not have a DW account or if you requested to remain anonymous, please e-mail your submission to hetaliafests[@]gmail[.]com as an attachment (or attachments) with the subject line "Surströmmiakki Fest Submission" and your submission form(s) written in the body. When it is received, I will post it for you via the fest mod account.

 As the title goes, sign ups are now closed! Prompts will be going out later today however I was not expecting to be booked for work so there will be a delay in getting all the prompts out in a timely manner. Many of you won't recieve them until late in the evening or the 6th all together (depending on your timezone). I apologize for the delay!

We had such a great turnout this year and I'm so happy to see that some of you sent multiple submissions! You all produced some great content so give yourselves a big pat on the back. You all deserve it!

I'm looking forward to checking out what you all made! Thank you to everyone who participated this year. I look forward to putting this event on again next year!
